Ameet, excellent post. I’ve long realized that this same fundamental principle holds true to career success and growth. In fields of high growth, of course talented people do well but even average people can far exceed the successes of strong peers struggling in weak fields. Of course the biggest example has been tech — whether you are an engineer, marketer, sales, HR, etc. — the overall growth of the market fuels healthy careers.
